Booking and Payment Terms

These terms apply to classes, workshops, trips, shows, events (Services) and everything else managed by or on behalf of The Fashion School. Please ensure you have read and understood the following before booking with us. This policy includes third party bookings.

In these booking terms, “we” means The Fashion School (and “us” and “our” will be construed accordingly); and “you” means our customer or potential customer under these online booking terms (and “your” will be construed accordingly).


1.0 Bookings

The receipt of a booking form and payment is required in advance to secure any booking with us and our classes must be paid termly and in full. If we have not received payment after we have confirmed your booking with us, we reserve the right to release your space to another student.

Neither we nor any third parties provide any warranty or guarantee as to the accuracy, timeliness, performance, completeness or suitability of the information and materials found or offered on this website for any particular purpose. You acknowledge that such information and materials may contain inaccuracies or errors. Please note that such errors may relate to our Services information, pricing and availability. In these instances, we have the right to terminate any bookings involving pricing errors or inaccuracies. The Fashion School’s decision is final.


1.1 Reserving spaces

We appreciate the loyalty of our long-running customers but we are unable to save spaces for students. The only way to save space is to book and pay in advance. Please make sure you are signed up to our mailing list to make sure you are kept up to date with any announcements.

1.2 Catch-up classes

When signing up for the term we ask that you try to make all classes but we understand that may not always be possible. We allow catch-up classes for up to 2 classes per term (12 classes). Catch-up classes take place in either designated catch-up classes or by joining another class for a one-off session. Catch-up classes are based on availability in classes so please make sure to arrange them as early as possible. We do not allow catch-up classes to be taken over to the next term or to be used as a credit towards next term. We also ask that catch-up classes are booked in at least one week in advance. Unfortunately we can not currently offer catch-ups in our Brighton adults weekly classes.

Catch-up class designation:

0 catch-ups for 1 - 3 booked weekly classes

1 catch-up for 4 - 7 booked weekly classes

2 catch-ups for 8 - 12 booked weekly classes


2.0 Payments

You can pay for all classes, workshops and fashion kits via our online payment system (Stripe) which accepts all major credit and debit cards.

In the case you are paying for fashion parties, private tuition, any extra service or materials, you will be sent a digital invoice via Stripe which can be settled with any major debit or credit card.

Any late payments, e.g. your child has attended a class without us receiving payment in advance or your invoice is overdue, are subject to a £50 late fee.

Prices are liable to change at any time, but changes will not affect contracts which have come into force.


3.0 Refunds and Cancellations

3.1 Changes or cancellations by you:

3.1a Workshops, Weekly Classes and Fashion Parties

If you are unable to attend your session, you must inform us in writing, at least 14 days in advance of the start date to for Brighton or for London, to be eligible for a full refund.

If cancellation is made within 14 days and 48 hours of the start of the session, you will be offered a credit to be used against any of our services or you can transfer to another workshop/class.

If cancellation is made after 48 hours to the start of the session, we are unable to offer you are refund or credit.

If the cancellation is for the reason of illness and a valid Doctor’s certificate can be produced, we will offer credit to be used against any of our services.

Cancellations requested after the session has started will not be considered.

No Shows will not be eligible for a refund or credit.

Students are also expected to be on time for their sessions. We hold no liability for the loss of time due to lateness and will not offer you a catch-up session or refund.


3.1b Private Tuition

All private tuitions can be rescheduled if notice is given at least 48 hours in advance. Any cancellations within 48 hours will not be eligible for a refund or credit. Please email for Brighton or for London, to arrange rescheduling or cancellations.

3.2 Changes or cancellations by us:

Whilst we always do our utmost to run our sessions and services as originally timetabled, on very rare occasions we may have to cancel a class, workshop or event (e.g. due to a tutor being unwell and we haven’t been able to arrange cover). We will give you as much notice as possible and follow the procedure below:

Weekly Classes: If we cancel a regular class due to tutor absence, adverse weather conditions or unexpected events, we will do our best to arrange a double/catch up session for you. If you can’t attend on the day(s) suggested we will use our discretion on to how to proceed.

Workshops and other Services: We will give you as much notice as we can and offer you a replacement session.

In all other instances, we reserve the right to use our discretion on how to proceed.

We will not be liable for any other costs, wasted travel or expenses that you may incur.


3.2a Change of venue

In the very rare event that we need to change the venue stated on our website, we will inform you of this change as soon as possible. We will then discuss your available options and whether this includes a refund if the change means you or your child can no longer attend. If you are no longer able to attend we would need written notice at least 7 days in advance of the start date at the new venue, to be eligible for a credit note.

The Fashion School is not liable for any extra costs or expenses incurred due to the change of venue.


3.2b National or Local Lockdown:

Weekly Classes: If the lockdown is for 2 weeks or less and we are unable to have in-person classes, we will offer catch-up classes at the next safest date.

For a lockdown longer than 2 weeks, where we are unable to hold in-person classes, we will provide online classes and possibly subsequential catch-up classes (at our discretion).  

We will not be able to offer credits or refunds. 

Workshops and other Services: We will hold all planned workshops at the next safest date, or you may be able to transfer to an online workshop. 


4.0 Student requirements

4.1 Age Policy

Our classes, workshops, activities and services specify an age range on our website. If you have booked and paid for an activity and the child or teenager (student) is under or over the specified age range, without prior agreement from The Fashion School, you will, unfortunately, be turned away with no refund.

4.2 Student Conduct

During the session, if you act in any way which we deem likely to cause harm or nuisance to any person(s), you will be asked to leave and we will not be liable to refund you.

4.4 Student Health and Safety

It is important that our Covid-19 Safety Protocol is read in advance of any classes or workshops and this information is communicated to any children attending. Students who fail to comply with health and safety rules may be asked to leave or unable to participate in the session.


5.0 Photography and Video recording

From time to time, we may photograph or film our sessions and reserve the right to do so for promotion, unless you explicitly notify us upon booking that you or your child does not wish to be photographed/filmed.

It is also important that you read our Privacy Policy. If you have any questions please do get in touch.


6.0 Gift Cards / Vouchers booking terms

This Gift Card or Voucher can be used as full or part payment for any items on our site i.e. any classes, workshops, private tuition or fashion activity kits. 

6.1 Money left on card 

If the value of your purchase does not use the full amount available on the voucher please email us here to let us know. In the message please include the email address used to make the class/course purchase, your gift voucher number and remaining balance needed. We will send you new discount gift code for the remaining amount, which can then be used against future purchases. You will not be able to trade remaining balances for cash.

6.2 Refunds 

Gift vouchers are non refundable, except if a refund request is made within 24 hours.

6.3 Expiration

The Gift card is valid for 12 months from the date of purchase.

Our usual booking terms for classes apply to all class bookings made using this voucher

7.0 Late Collection Policy and Procedures​

This policy is for children who have been left at the school over the agreed collection time or once the school has closed/classes have ended.


The Fashion School has a duty of care to the children and parents to ensure that the collection of children is made at the agreed time or within our school opening hours. Late collection causes additional cost for the school and potential distress to a child.

Children remaining in our care after the agreed collection time, after their class has ended or after our opening hours must be supervised by a member of staff. We appreciate that sometimes there may be circumstances beyond parent/carer control affecting the prompt collection of your child. If you know you are going to be late collecting your child please call us at the earliest opportunity and discuss with the member of staff teaching your child the arrangements for collection. Please note that a late stay fee will still be chargeable, unless agreed otherwise, for example in exceptional circumstances.

7.1 Late Collection Fee​

All parents/carers will be given a 5 minute grace period on the late collection of their child. If your child has still not been collected after 5 minutes, then a £20 fee will be charged every 30 minutes and should be paid to the member of staff looking after your child in cash.

Your child will be cared for, kept inside the school and reassured by members of staff until collection. Any specific needs will be addressed.
