New Podcast : Harvy Santos. Milliner

Harvy is a member of the Hat Guild. He was also hat designer of the year 2013 and part of the British Fashion Council Headonism exhibition in 2015.

Welcome to Harvy Santos, Milliner and label owner since 2013.

Harvy is a member of the Hat Guild. He was also hat designer of the year 2013 and part of the British Fashion Council Headonism exhibition in 2015.

During his interview, Harvy will take you into the world of millinery. How he got to where he is from being a dancer in Hong Kong. No foundation course or degree for Harvy, he explains how he couldn't afford to apply to the Royal College of Art and instead went to Kensington and Chelsea College, where he met like-minded committed millinery creatives and millinery skills. I met Harvy when I taught illustration and his talent, drive and can do and humble/noble friendly attitude made it obvious he was going to do well.

Harvy will tell you you don't need bags of equipment to make hats. Millinery is surprisingly accessible if you have imagination and determination. Millinery can be for everyone and it is such a rewarding and personal creative process.

The Fashion School hopes to collaborate with Harvy and The British Hat Guild to provide millinery as an integral part of one of the many aspects of fashion we'll be covering in workshops in late 2021. Follow @harvysantoshats on instagram
