At the start of June, we packed up our sewing machines, safety pins and rebellious spirit and headed over to Francis Holland School for an all-day Punk Fashion Workshop with the entire Year 8 cohort. Held in their grand school hall, the day was bursting with creativity, noise, style - and a whole lot of attitude.
To kick things off, Caroline, our director, delivered an inspiring talk on Vivienne Westwood, the history of 1970s punk, and how DIY fashion became a movement.

From Old Tees to Total Transformation...
Each student brought in an old t-shirt ready to be flipped, slashed and styled into something straight from the Kings Road in the 1970s. We set up customisation stations across the hall, including:
Machine embellishment
Fabric painting
Slashing and laddering
Hand-stitching
Adding chains, safety pins and up-cycled trims
There was colour, chaos and creativity everywhere - from paint-splattered fishnets too reworked clown skirts from Annabelle's costume box. The looks were fierce and full of character.

The Final Catwalk
We ended the day with a catwalk show, and it was electric! The students strutted, posed and owned the runway with the kind of confidence and pride that comes from maakimg something entirely your own. The aatmosphere was buzzing!

Want us to run a Workshop at your School?
We're always open to working with local schools - either coming to you, or hosting up to 30 students (minimum 20) in our Chelsea studio.
We also ran the same Punk Workshop earlier this year with Earlsfield Primary School, who joined us in-studio. They were one of the most creative, well-mannered and enthusiastic groups we've had! The headteacher said it was "the best school trip he'd organised in 30 years of teaching". We don't take that lightly - our team puts in so much effort to make every session inspiring and unforgettable.
